Sonarworks reference 4 blogspot4/7/2023 Sonar works does give you a flat frequency response (and hopefully somewhat linear phase response). If you are using the reproduction chain for music production it is generally best to produce on speakers that are transparent. Is a flat frequency response simply not desirable as a listening experience? Should I still use Sonarworks, even though I dislike the sound? I think that will give you a result more oriented towards your goal. Try to make your room symmetrical, absorb first reflections and corners. I would recommend getting your accoustics right first. It's generally easiest to solve problems in the same domain they originate from (acoustic problems in acoustic domain, digital problems in digital domain etc.). Room correction can be quite effective if you have room treatment but you still have small errors (<10dB, low Q). The room correction also doesn't correct for different decay times in the room.įor those reasons room correction isn't very effective. It doesn't work for large area's, because the frequency response is different. The thing about room correction is that it only corrects for a single point in the room.
